- I was born and raised in Kansas, but moved to Texas when my dad was transferred in high school. I attended Texas A&M University, where I graduated with an Education degree and was the manager of the Fightin' Texas Aggies Volleyball Team. I enjoy reading, cooking, coaching, and exercising. I also love traveling!
My animal is the camel. The camel is a very large mammal and has one hump or two humps filled with fat. Also it has large nostrils that can open and close. Did you know that the camel has long eyelashes and busy eyebrows too? Camels also have thick, shaggy fur.
ReplyDeleteMy animal is the swordfish. Did you know a swordfish can weigh up to 1,000 pounds!? That's amazing! The body of a swordfish is shaped like a torpedo. The color of a swordfish is dark purple and blue. It almost looks black.
ReplyDeleteThe mole has 22 fleshy fingers on its nose. Also, the mole grows up to 7 inches long. The whole body is fat and flat. The ears are small little openings on the mole. The snout is long and piglike. The fur is dense and velvety.
ReplyDeleteThe komodo dragon is 6-10 feet in length and 200-500 lbs. in weight making it the heaviest living lizard on Earth. The females are smaller but both female and male are fast moving and agile. Komodo dragons have 60 teeth and when they lose one, another grows in. Their scaly bodies include a flat head, rounded snout, bowed legs, and huge, muscular tails. Young "dragons" have dark colored skin that reaches around 29 inches in length.
ReplyDeleteThe penguin is my animal.Some penguins have very odd hairstyles! They have a variety of colors for their beak! Penguins have a white stomach and a black back. Some penguins even have bare patches of skin to let out air when they are hot like the penguins that live on the southern seas of Africa!

ReplyDeleteMy animal, the chameleon has scaly skin. The chameleon changes how it looks. This animal does this by camouflage. Chameleons eyes also change color. The chameleon grows up to 2 feet long!
ReplyDeleteBats have a large variety of color. Such as gray, brown, and tan. But black on the back. Something I found interesting was that a bats muzzle, or nose can look like a rodent or a fox!
ReplyDeleteThe Bush Baby has HUGE eyes due to their nocturnal vision they have to see at night and watch out for predators that might eat them because it is so dark and many animals can't see well in the dark. It has a brown to gray fluffy fur! Suprisingly, the Bush Baby is tiny! Its body is about 5 inches and the tail is 6-16 inches! The Bush Baby has a small noes and a sphere tail! There are thin light tan toes on the Bush Baby's small feet! The Bush Baby has long legs for jumping. For instance, the Bush Baby has to jump from tree to tree!
ReplyDeleteThe hedgehog has a white belly.It is very prickly.When they are babies their fur are soft.hedgehogs usually have brown fur.They have black eyes too!
ReplyDeleteMy animal the cheetah is tawni yellow. They have dark brown spots and a color around it that outlines it. It is black! They have the color of African grass. Prey can't see them because they are the same color as the things around it and walks very slow so their prey won't see them. This is called camoflage. When the prey sees the cheetah, the cheetah is so close that when the prey tries to run away, the cheetah is so close that they can feast on their prey. And because their SO fast!
ReplyDeleteHooded seals are sometimes black and white they have black skin and white dots. Hooded seals blow there tonue up. Hooded seals are white and black so they have white skin and black dots. They are very intresting. Hooded seals make a big bump on it head then it's blows up its tonue.
ReplyDeleteThe Cheetah is tawny yellow for main color. They have spots that are dark brown. The outline of the spots are black. They blend in with their habitats long, tall grasses in the African Plains. They have a long tail to look like the grasses in the plains. All this is camoflage and camoflage helps them to catch those gazelles, or rarley, other animals.
ReplyDeleteTuna are large fish that are blueish-silverish. The largest tuna is the bluefin, it is 14 feet long! The albocore tuna is 140 cm. long. The yellowfin tuna is 239 cm. long. The bigeye tuna is 250cm. long! The blackfin tuna is 100 cm. long. The southern bluefin tuna is 2.5 meters long! I could not find how long the longtail tuna was.
ReplyDeleteThe Siptting Cobra can reach 9 feet. The Spitting Cobra Has huge fangs. The Spitting Cobras lenght of it's tail is 15-20% of the Spitting Cobras total body.Their are many species of Spitting Cobras and they all come in many color and patterns. Heres an example of a Spitting Cobra a Jet Black Spitting Cobra.
ReplyDeleteThe vulture has a heavy, hooked beak. It's feet are really stubby, so the vulture doesn't walk too well. Their claws, though, are extremely sharp. That's how vultures grip their prey. Now the wings are really something to look at. They're 12 feet long! One of their more unpleasent features is their bald head. But still, it's an adaptation. A cool thing is that vultures have a nostril hole right through their beak! So you could look into one side of the nostril hole and see out the other!!
ReplyDeleteSea urchins are round or oval and have sharp spines all over the outside of their body. They can be black, brown, red, green, white, purple or pink in color and sometimes they can even glow! The spines can be poisonous. The sea urchin's mouth is on the bottom of their body. They move by using thousands of tiny tube feet called podia. The tube feet are like suction cups that help them to climb wet rocks and steep cliffs.
ReplyDeleteDid you know you the King Cobra can reach 18 feet.Well now you know!It can weigh up to 20 lbs.If you think that is not much. I like to see you try holding that!They can live up to 20 years.Also,they have 3 types of skin color:olive green,tan, and black. They have pale yellow cross bands with yellow or cream belly color. king cobras have very smooth skin. Their hatchlings are 50cm.
ReplyDeleteMy animal has very pretty coat. It's main color is tawni yellow. It has LOTS of dark choclate brown spots with a crisp black outline. Now, doesn't that sound relaxing?!
ReplyDeleteMale cheetahs are about 7 FT tall. Lady cheetahs are about 6 FT tall. Adult females weigh 100 lbs. Male cheetahs weigh about 125 lbs.
